Maritime and Place-Based Projects

Strong place-based projects include an essential question, a place-based theme, one or more community partners, academic assessment, an assessed disposition, make a positive community impact, and include a public presentation of student learning. The listed projects have been developed by teachers as part of the Maritime Discovery Schools initiative. Students at all grade levels, at all schools engage in place-based learning throughout the school year in all classes.
