Honoring the Past, Building What's Next
This week, demolition of the Lincoln Building begins - a moment years in the making for Port Townsend.
Over the past year, more than 500 community members and alumni walked through Lincoln's halls one final time, sharing stories and memories from its 132 years as part of our community. Most recently, alumni returning for Alumni Weekend gathered on June 14th for one last memorial visit before this summer's demolition.
Thank you to everyone who came out to say goodbye: your stories are part of what makes this building's legacy worth preserving, even as its walls come down.
What's ahead: a renovated PTHS and a new home for OCEAN K-12 School, built for the next generation of Port Townsend students. With the building gone, the newly built terrace will take its place, offering unobstructed views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

A huge THANK YOU to the Jefferson County Association of Realtors for spending time volunteering at the Salish Coast Production Garden! 🌱💚
Your hard work and willingness to give back to our community make a real difference. Every weed pulled, bed prepared, and task completed helps us continue growing fresh, local produce for our school kitchens and creates meaningful learning opportunities for our students.
We are so grateful for your support and commitment to helping our garden thrive. Thank you for investing in our students, our schools, and our community—we couldn't do it without volunteers like you!

Celebrate the Class of 2026 at the Graduation Serpentine Parade!
Today, June 18th at 5:30 PM
The Class of 2026 will make its way through Port Townsend during the annual Graduation Serpentine Parade
Community members are invited to line the route, wave, cheer, and help celebrate our graduating seniors as they travel with their families to the commencement ceremony.
It's a wonderful Port Townsend tradition and one more chance for the community to show our seniors how proud we are of them!

Congratulations to our incredible students who were awarded the Seal of Biliteracy at last week's Board Meeting!
This year, we are proud to celebrate 12 recipients in Spanish and one in Ilocano, a language of the Philippines. This prestigious honor recognizes the hard work, dedication, and commitment it takes to achieve proficiency in more than one language. For many of these students, this achievement is deeply rooted in the cultural and linguistic assets of their families.
As Dr. Linda shared: “We commend the students for their talent, pride, and hard work in developing bicultural, bilingual leadership. Those students who have earned the honor in a second language are to be commended for their dedication to participation and leadership in a multicultural society. They are an example to follow for our community. ”
These scholars are an absolute inspiration to their peers, and a reflection of the rich, multi-talented community we are so lucky to be a part of here in Port Townsend.
We see you, we celebrate you, and we can't wait to see where your bilingual leadership takes you! 🌟
