🍎 Cider Pressing Fun! 🍏
Last Friday, some of our high schoolers got to roll up their sleeves and press fresh cider out in the garden! It was the perfect fall day for enjoying the fruits of their hard work. Nothing beats the taste of cider made right from our own apples! 🍂🌳❤️

We are so proud of our new art building at PT High School! Students and teachers alike are enjoying the new ADA accessible classroom with lots of natural light, an updated pottery kiln, more sinks and a more efficient heating and cooling system. The art building was completed this summer with funding from our capital levy passed by voters last February. Thank you!

The excitement on campus is contagious. Our incredible maintenance team has been hard at work this morning hanging class banners and getting everything ready for this afternoon’s Homecoming Assembly.

As the halls fill with school spirit, we’re getting ready to take the celebration beyond campus. Join us beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Park and Ride next to Safeway for a pre-Homecoming gathering. The Culinary Cruiser will be serving pulled pork sandwiches with pickles and salad from the school garden for $6.

At 5:30 p.m., the Serpentine Parade will depart for Memorial Field, leading us into an evening of community, spirit, and celebration.

Go Rivals!

1950 pounds + 65 buckets = a ton of work! 🍎💪

This year’s apple marathon ran 10 hours in the Blue Heron Middle School kitchen. With lots of cross-trained hands, the day of washing, chopping, cooking, saucing, cooling, and freezing was more fun than work. The batch came out with just the right texture and flavor!

The end result will soon be served at Port Townsend, Chimacum, and Quilcene Schools—as pancake topping, muffin magic, or simply fresh. ✨

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who made this happen for the 5th year in a row: Dorothy, Rach, Mary O, Seth, Tom, Keith, Milly, Hailian, Jim, Doug, Mary H, Alex, Glenn, Suzanne, Nicole, Robin—and all the amazing pickers who brought in 3,000 pounds of apples! 🍏🙌

Our kitchen team had an incredible day at the Atrium Kitchen in Pike Place Market! 🎉🍴
We sharpened our knife skills, learned new cooking techniques, and tried out fresh recipes—all while bonding as a team. Big thanks to Chef Tracy and farmers who shared their knowledge and passion with us. 💚

We’re excited to bring what we learned back to our school kitchens and keep creating tasty, scratch-cooked meals for our students! 🌱

Hello walkers and runners! You might have noticed the action this summer at the Blue Heron Middle School track. We are removing the old, crumbling surface of the track and replacing it with a new base mat and a more durable top coat. This new track surface will be much better and safer for our student athletes. And our broader community!

We appologize for the temporary inconvenience of the closure. We are excited to get everyone back on the new track as soon as it is complete at the end of summer!

This project is funded with Capital Levy dollars.

We look forward to sharing "after" photos of our building once the project is complete! Shona Grimm
