OCEAN, Salish Coast and Blue Heron students all competed on teams this year. The Otter Bots took home the Rising All-Star Award which recognizes a team showing exceptional potential, growth, and promise, along with strong teamwork, creativity and emerging skills in robotics and problem-solving.
PT STEM coach Everest Ashford also won the Best Coach/Mentor award, nominated by the students. Everest is an alumni of the Lego League robotics programs and has helped out for the past seven years. This was his last year coaching as he is headed off to college.

Last Friday, some of our high schoolers got to roll up their sleeves and press fresh cider out in the garden! It was the perfect fall day for enjoying the fruits of their hard work. Nothing beats the taste of cider made right from our own apples! 🍂🌳❤️

As the halls fill with school spirit, we’re getting ready to take the celebration beyond campus. Join us beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Park and Ride next to Safeway for a pre-Homecoming gathering. The Culinary Cruiser will be serving pulled pork sandwiches with pickles and salad from the school garden for $6.
At 5:30 p.m., the Serpentine Parade will depart for Memorial Field, leading us into an evening of community, spirit, and celebration.
Go Rivals!
1950 pounds + 65 buckets = a ton of work! 🍎💪
This year’s apple marathon ran 10 hours in the Blue Heron Middle School kitchen. With lots of cross-trained hands, the day of washing, chopping, cooking, saucing, cooling, and freezing was more fun than work. The batch came out with just the right texture and flavor!
The end result will soon be served at Port Townsend, Chimacum, and Quilcene Schools—as pancake topping, muffin magic, or simply fresh. ✨
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who made this happen for the 5th year in a row: Dorothy, Rach, Mary O, Seth, Tom, Keith, Milly, Hailian, Jim, Doug, Mary H, Alex, Glenn, Suzanne, Nicole, Robin—and all the amazing pickers who brought in 3,000 pounds of apples! 🍏🙌

We sharpened our knife skills, learned new cooking techniques, and tried out fresh recipes—all while bonding as a team. Big thanks to Chef Tracy and farmers who shared their knowledge and passion with us. 💚
We’re excited to bring what we learned back to our school kitchens and keep creating tasty, scratch-cooked meals for our students! 🌱
