Dear PT Schools Families,
Happy fall! I hope you’re all doing well as the season changes to sweater weather. In the past two weeks I’ve had the pleasure of visiting every school with our board directors. In classrooms we saw staff responding to students with care and personalizing instruction to match student needs. We also enjoyed having an opportunity to eat healthy, hyper-local lunches with ingredients grown in our production farm and school gardens. What a great start to the school year!
October is National Principals Month, and I want to express my deep gratitude to our incredible principals who lead our schools. Every day, our principals inspire teachers, staff, and students to be their best. They navigate challenges with grace, creating environments where every student can thrive. Thank you for all that you do!
Please read on for recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day, invitations to join districtwide committees and a reminder to come out and support our student athletes. I hope to see you at a game or match soon!
Sincerely, Dr. Linda Rosenbury | | | PT Schools is grateful to partner with Tribes in our area throughout the year. In August Loni Greninger, Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe Vice Chairperson, gave a presentation to all teachers. Teachers then had the opportunity to attend a workshop taught by Sabrina McQuillen Hill, Makah Tribal member and Sarah Rubenstein, Placed-Based Learning Director about how to integrate John McCoy (lulilaš) Since Time Immemorial: Tribal Sovereignty in Washington State lessons into their class curriculum.
This fall we will be hosting special events with DJ Supaman, a Fancy Dancer, hip hop artist, beatboxer, DJ, and tribal member and ambassador for the Crow Nation (Apsáalooke). Students at all our schools will have a chance to see his incredible performances during school assemblies. Families and community members are invited to two all-ages evening performances in the PTHS Auditorium 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm on November 20th. | | | As parents and caregivers, we value your life experience and wisdom very much. You are invited to join a district committee where you can work with staff, teachers and administrators to support our students. This year committees will meet on five Wednesdays from 1:30 - 3:15 pm at the high school: November 5th, December 10th, March 4th, April 1st, and May 6th.
Committees that meet during this time include:
