90 hours for semester (0.5 credit); 180 for full year (1.0 credit)


Students are expected to provide 20 sketches or sample works and three (3) final publicly-displayed products per semester

First Semester Products
-->20 sketches in sketchbook
-->3 gallery-ready art products
-->1 biography
-->Activity Logs showing 90 hours total class + independent time

Second Semester Products:
-->Shared Chrome folder with 6 "best" photos from which photos will be selected for our Art Show.
-->Prepare up to three (3) pieces for our Art Gallery Show
-->Write an Artist Statement that includes: 
......Who are you (not just your name)? 
......What kind of art do you like to do?
......What inspires you? 
......What are some future goals you have in the field of art?
(This Artist Statement will be hung with your art at the Art Gallery Show. )

Photography

Students must provide their own SLR cameras

Is it intuitive?
What level is the ease of use?
What features does it have?
What are its limitations?
Is it protective (“save as”) or destructive (saves over original); can you save and return to your project?
Can you:
Improve clarity? Light?
Change color tone/saturation?
Bring out highlights/shadows?
Straighten?
Crop – preset sizes? Free size?
Select part of a photo to edit? Move parts?
Change background?
Combine two photos?
Make into a different art style (B&W, watercolor, texture)?
Insert Text?
