At the direction of the Port Townsend School District Board of Directors, the district has convened committees comprised of staff members, parents and community members to work on the following areas:
Budget/Finance The charge of this committee is to learn about the complex financing of public schools, and how school budgets arecreated. Members of this committee will share this knowledge with community members, including those serving on the Levy Committee. Meetings of the committee will be advertised on the calendar of events on the district website.
Technology The charge of this committee is to support the district in development of long- and short-term planning in the acquisition of and best usage of district technology, along with review of the district's technology plan. Meetings of the committee will be advertised on the calendar of events on the district website.
Wellness The charge of this committee is to support the district in development of a comprehensive district-wide curriculum on health, fitness and nutrition consistent with the Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRS) as outlined in Board Policy 6700: Nutrition and Fitness.Meetings of the committee will be advertised on the calendar of events on the district website.
